Pensara is a supportive reflection app for journaling, voice capture, and personalized insights over time. This Privacy Policy explains how Pensara collects, uses, shares, and protects information in the Pensara app and on the Pensara website.
Information You Provide
Pensara collects the information you choose to provide while using the app, including journal entries, entry titles, speech transcripts, prompt responses, notes, reflections, selected themes, mood context, action items, Ask Narrator interactions, and other content you create in the product.
If you create an account, Pensara may receive account information such as your name, email address, Sign in with Apple or Firebase authentication identifiers, and user ID. You may also provide optional personalization details such as birth date, reminder preferences, narration settings, timezone, and other app settings.
Voice, Speech, and Audio
Pensara uses microphone access only when you choose to record a spoken journal entry. Speech recognition is used to convert your spoken entry into text. Pensara's current app design stores the resulting transcript and journal content, not raw voice recordings as journal files.
If this behavior changes in a future release, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosures should be updated before that release ships.
How Pensara Uses Information
Pensara uses your information to provide core app functionality, including authentication, journaling, cloud sync, reminders, account deletion, feedback handling, security, app operation, personalized prompts, summaries, reflections, insights, and narration experiences.
Pensara is a supportive reflection and wellness product. It is not therapy, medical care, psychiatric care, crisis support, or emergency service.
AI Processing
Pensara may send journal content, transcripts, profile context, and related app context to AI service providers such as OpenAI to generate reflections, summaries, insights, prompts, and other app features.
Pensara aims to send only the information needed to provide the requested feature. AI-generated output may be imperfect, and you should not rely on it as professional medical, legal, financial, or emergency advice.
Service Providers
Pensara uses service providers to operate the app and website, including Firebase and Google Cloud for authentication, backend services, and cloud data storage; OpenAI for AI-powered features; Apple for platform services such as Sign in with Apple and speech recognition; and Vercel for website hosting, analytics, and performance insights.
These providers process information on Pensara's behalf or as needed to provide their platform services. Pensara does not sell personal information and does not use collected app data to track users across other companies' apps or websites.
Website and Waitlist
If you join the Pensara waitlist, Pensara stores your email address, optional first name, signup source, and signup timestamp so we can send launch updates and early access notices.
The Pensara website uses Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights to understand aggregate site usage and performance. These tools may collect limited technical information such as page views, device or browser details, approximate location derived from network information, performance timing, and referrer information.
Feedback and Support
If you send feedback or contact Pensara for support, we may collect your message, optional contact email, and related diagnostic context you choose to submit so we can respond and improve the product.
Retention and Deletion
Pensara keeps account and journal information for as long as needed to provide the app, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, maintain security, and operate the service.
You can request account deletion from the app's Settings screen. Deleting your account requests removal of your Pensara account data from backend services and clears local app data from your device, subject to limited retention where required by law or needed for security, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.
Security
Pensara uses technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information, including HTTPS/TLS in transit and access controls around backend services. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.
Children
Pensara is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Pensara, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
Changes
Pensara may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated policy will be posted here with a new effective date.
